As day one ended, we assigned our deputies and available troopers to remain in the area unless called out to handle an emergency call. Wanted posters were distributed to county stores, post offices, law enforcement officers and adjoining counties, including the Shenandoah National Park Police. Meanwhile, the dayto-day responsibilities of the Sheriff’s Office continued while newspapers and citizens called for updates.
The days that followed lead us to assemble three V.S.P. and one FauquierCulpeper joint tactical teams. An A.T.V. team and Bloodhound from Page County also joined our assembled resources. Culpeper County sent two K9 teams and Culpeper Town assigned their only K9 unit to help our search. All of these enforcement units experienced long difficult hours of service to Rappahannock County.
