It is a difficult thing to do, to try to know God’s will. If I work very hard in my garden, tilling the soil, and planting and weeding, and the rain doesn’t come, is it God’s will that there will be no harvest? Some would say, after you did all that work, shouldn’t you water your garden?
You know your garden needs water to live. If the water does not fall from the sky, and you do nothing to provide it, there will be no crop to harvest. That is a reality.
So, what about human life and the sustenance we need to survive? If we become ill and are unable to take food into our bodies, or if we can no longer breathe on our own, should those things be provided to sustain life?
Before you answer that, think about the victims of accidents, who would, were it not for the randomness of fate, still have healthy, vibrant lives. Should rescue crews not make heroic efforts to extricate people from horrible automobile accidents, and provide artificial life support?
