Letting go
For a grieving loved one of the deceased, Rhein asks them to get up out of their seat and come forward away from the grave and stand away and look up to the sky, then he gives them a pure white dove and when they are ready , release it. Then the one dove is followed by 15 or so more. “It really means so much to these people,” Rhein said, “and it’s very healing and it really helps people move on in their life.” This gives closure to someone who has lost a loved one and when they do release the dove and they watch it ascend up into the empty sky, it is a symbolic gesture of the intangible soul of the deceased being held
