While Cloniger hunkered down in the woods for more than a week, the residents of Harris Hollow Road received no official information or warnings from the sheriff’s office or any other county officials. Had the situation resolved itself in a day or two, I could have accepted the fact that there was not sufficient time to get the word out to every resident on our road. But Cloniger prowled our backyards for more than a week and, during those tense eight days, the sheriff shared no information with us while somehow finding the time to grant interviews to a number of regional newspapers.
