Harmonious Wail comes
to Old Shadowlawn
The Bluemont Concert Series is proud to present Harmonious Wail on Saturday, July 29th at 7:30 p.m. for the seventh of ten Saturday evening performances. « All concerts will be held at the Old Shadowlawn at 70 I Culpeper Street between Franklin and Lee streets, one block south of old Warren Green in downtown Warrenton. ' Admission is $5 per person, $4 for Bluemont Friends and seniors, $2 for kids under 12; proceeds go to support i Bluemont’s year round Artist-In-Education Program in area schools. Harmonious Wail will also participate in Bluemont’s Healthcare Outreach Program by performing for the residents of Amerisist of Warrenton.
Harmonious Waildraws from the rich influence of the European gypsy musicians, most notably Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli who created and developed what came to be known as Gypsy Swing. What sets - the Wail apart from other wonderful talent in this growing genre is the vocal excellence of Maggie Delaney-Potthoff. The intoxicating arrangements and the shear joy the Wail brings to every performance is downright addictive.
Plan to bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on. A local • community group will provide homemade refreshments as a fundraiser for its programs. Door prizes donated by local merchants will be awarded during the intermission. Pets, alcohol and smoking are prohibited at all Bluemont events. In case of bad weather, the concert will be held at the Taylor Middle School auditorium.
