Cantor keeps seat
, Overall; j intrurpbent Republican Rep. Eric Cantor easily won the Seventh District seat in the House of Representatives, ^landing nearly 64 percent of votes district wide. But in Rappahannock, the race was much tighter between Cantor and Democrat Jim Nachman.
Cantor won slightly less than 50 percent of votes in the county, getting his best support at the Amissville and Chester Gap polling stations. Amissville supported Cantor with 59 percent of votes and Chester Gap backed him with nearly 68 percent.
Nachman, who received nearly 48 percent of votes countywide, won the majority at the other four polling stations. His best showing was in the Town of Washington, where he landed 58 percent of the votes.
