Raymond “Red” Elwood Hitt, Jr., 75, of Castleton died Monday, October 30, at Winchester Medical Center. He was bom June 6, 1931 in Fauquier, VA to the late Raymond Edward Hitt, Sr., and Mary Weaver Hitt.
He served his country in the United States Army and fought in the Korean War for five years. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW in both Culpeper and Warrenton. He was “Papa” to his precious grandchildren who he cared for greatly.
Mr. Hitt is survived by his loving wife of over fifty years, Aloha Lee Deal Hitt of Castleton, his two sons, Roger Lee Hitt and his companion, Christine Compton of Front Royal, and Mark Alan Hitt of Rixeyville, and his three grandchildren, Kendra Marie Frazier and her husband, Chad of Luray, Corey Alan Hitt of
