Reduced funding for a Virginia Department of Transportation program for local road projects will likely mean Rappahannock County will need to shift its transportation priorities in coming years.
VDOT Administrator David Cubbage told the County Board of Supervisors on Monday that the department’s Six-Year Improvement Program calls for a $610 million statewide reduction in funding for the next fiscal year. Cubbage said that equates roughly to a 36 percent cut in funds for primary and secondary roads.
