Times were hard and. money was scarce for the whole community. The only food some people had was watered gravy. Members of the church would help by providing buckets of milk so that the least fortunate could have some sustenance. Another church member would take the battery from his automobile and lend it to his neighbors to they could listen to gospel music at night on the radio.
When the church was first organized services were held on the fourth Sunday of every month.
Five Forks has been a very active church since its beginning.
Although they are small the lights keep burning as a testimony to the Lord Jesus Christ and a beacon to those that pass by.
At the present time there are approximately 25 members of the church.
