big success in spite of the rain. The event was held indoors this year. All students and many parents performed fairy tales to delight the audience, and included Cinderella, Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and several other tales.
Fairytale ballet
Ms; Ragsdale’s first grade recently attended a ballet performance of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves at the Virginia Youth Ballet Academy in Winchester, Virginia. The performance was for public school students as well as local private school students and home schoolers, and was performed by children ages 6-17 years old who attend the Ballet Academy.
The performers practiced every day after school for several months, and the Hearthstone first graders were so impressed by the performance and the children participating in it, which held their attention for the full hour of the show.
The Ballet Academy is planning a future performance of The Nutcracker, which the first grade also looks forward to attending.
