Primary roads are thoroughfares, like U.S. 211 and U.S. 522, that connect population centers. Secondary roads are local county roads numbered 600 and higher.

Board members agreed to plan a workshop on the matter at their Dec. 3 meeting and open the issue for a public hearing when they gather Jan. 6.
