I would like to ask the residents
of our county, young and old, do you like sports? Do you like music? Did you play in the band? Do you enjoy going to a baseball game at Camden Yards or a football game at Redskins Park? How excited were you when D.C. was awarded the Nationals team? If you answer “yes” or “veiy” to any of the above questions, then I want you to think about something. If you were a child, ages 5-18, how excited would you be to be able to play on a field under the fights? How awesome would it feel to have all of your neighbors and friends watch you, in the dark of night, play a game of baseball, softball, soccer, and football or run track? How cool would it be to play at halftime under the fights? I know what my answer is and I believe that a lot of you have the same answer. It would be so cool!
