Birthday festivities Washington residents skirted the Inn at Little Washington yesterday to see what important figure had come to town. There were lots of large black vehicles signaling that someone special had come to dine. She had. First Lady Laura Bush had come to the Inn for a birthday party hosted by five of her friends. Although Bush’s birthday was November 4th, the hosts had chosen the day following mid-term elections. Local musicians Sam Morgan and Zan McLoud played for the guests at a cocktail party in the kitchen, before the First Lady and her friends moved to the dining room for lunch. There were 25 guests present including Karen Hughes and Karyn Frist. Patrick O’Connell and Rinehardt Lynch were both on hand for the festivities which had local residents buzzing. “You just never know who’ll you see in town,” said Kim Nelson who was busy opening her new Hair Gallery on Main Street.
