Mark Malek of Piedmont District supported the plan saying “as we make exceptions, it makes our plan weaker.”
Susan Babcock of Hampton District said, “It is an excellent plan. 1 believe agriculture is growing here. It is important to move on this tonight. It’s already late.”
Frank Reynolds of Stonewall-Hawthom District said the plan was “well-done. You have applied a lot of far-reaching principles.” In the past many counties looked to Loudoun as a county that was doing a good job of planning.
Now, Mr. Reynolds said, when he attends meetings of the Boards of Supervisors in Culpeper and Fauquier counties he hears people get up and tell their supervisors “in a very irate way, ‘Why can’t you do things the way Rappahannock County does because those people' really know what they’re doing. They’re trying to protect themselves.’ That’s been good.”
