NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
BY THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF WASHINGTON, VIRGINIA
THE TOWN OF WASHINGTON, VIRGINIA will hold a public hearing on April 12, 1989 at 8:00 o’clock p.m. in the Courtroom at the Courthouse in Washingtin, Virginia, to consider the adoption of the following:
1. An amendment to the Town of Washington, Virginia Historic District Ordinance to provide that the Architectural Review Board shall be composed of not less than three nor more than five members. The present ordinance provides that the Architectural Review Board shall be composed of three members.
2. The adoption of a Town of Washington Smoke Detector Ordinance, which shall require that a smoke detector shall be installed, maintained, and provided in each sleeping room and hallway of every hotel and apartment house within the Town. The ordinance provides that a hotel shall include within its definitions a hotel, motel, inn, or bed and breakfast; an apartment is defined within this ordinance as a structure used to provide two or more housing units for a fee by the owner or the operator.
3. Copies of the amendment to the Historic District Ordinance and the proposed Smoke Detector Ordinance are available for examination at the office of the Zoning Administrator of Rappahannock County, Town of Washington in Washington, Virginia during normal business hours. All interested citizens are invited to attend and present their views at this public hearing.
