The Washington Town Council will hold its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 12 at 8 p.m. at the courthouse. The following items are set for the council’s consideration, although a “supermajority” of five affirmative votes will allow additional items to be placed on the agenda at the meeting.

• Smoke detector ordinance: To require smoke detectors in all hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts and other lodging houses, as well as apartment buildings. Single family dwellings and duplex homes are exempt.
