State, county and city officials and interested residents within the Virginia Department of Transportation’s nine-county Culpeper district will get a transportation progress report from Commonwealth Transportation Commissioner Ray D. Pethtel on Wednesday, April 12. They also will have a chance to help set the district’s transportation project agenda for the next fiscal year.
The progress report will be given at VDOT’s annual preallocation public hearing, which gives officials and citizens a say in the distribution of approximately $20.4 million of funds among interstate, primary, urban and public transit projects.
Identification of key transportation needs by officials and the public will assist VDOT in updating its sixyear highway and transit program. The hearing will begin at 10 a.m. at the Virginia Department of Transportation’s district office on Route 15, one-half mile south of Route 3 in Culpeper.
