projects under way and project values, we have reached and are maintaining a construction schedule that was unprecedented just two years ago. Plans are to maintain that schedule during the next fiscal year.”
The transportation commissioner said this year’s public hearing will not only give citizens a chance to develop the slate of projects earmarked for funding in the next fiscal year, but will give VDOT an opportunity to update local officials on the status of the governor’s expanded transportation program.
In the Culpeper District, VDOT is responsible for the construction and maintenance of state highways in the counties of Rappahannock, Albermarle, Culpeper, Fauquier, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Madison and Orange.
The district’s secondary highway improvement program will be discussed at future meetings.
