As the Rappahannock High School basketball team was capturing laurels this month, another contingent in the county was making history.
The Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs' Shenandoah District has nominated one of our own, Florence Nordone, to become the next district president in May.
Confirmation by the membership of Mrs. Nordone’s nomination by the district directors is due to take place a.t the Spring District Meeting at the Sheraton Inn in Charlottesville on April 13, and she will be installed at the Federation’s State Convention at the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond the first of May. Mrs. Nordone will preside over 78 garden clubs, with 2,000 members, for her two-year term.
