After the game a delighted Renee Leake crowed, “This is why I love coaching! These girls never give up. When we were down 18-8, it looked bad, but they hung in there and pulled it out.” Coach Leake then ran for cover because the rain that waited for the Panthers’ win wouldn’t wait any longer.
Rappahannock drew 30 walks from the errant Bulldog pitchers, “but we got the hits when we needed them,” Leake added. The Lady Panthers next hottte game is April 7 at the elementary school field against George Mason.
