Library poetry program
The poetry and life of the troubled, brilliant poet, Sylvia Plath, will be discussed on Tuesday, April 11 at 7 p.m. in the Rappahannock County High School’s new auditorium. The evening’s program will begin with a wide-screen video chronicling the 1950’s pop culture that was her era, and scenes of her physical environment in Massachusetts, New York, Smith College, London and the Devon countryside. Following the video there will be a discussion led by the award-winning poet and George Mason University professor, Peter Klappert. The poetry series about 20th-century poets, who were among the chief creators of modern poetry, has been made possible through a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and the American Library Association. Volunteer dinner planned
Rappahannock Retired Senior Volunteer Program will hold an appreciation luncheon for retired senior volunteers on Friday, April 14 at 11:30 a.m. at the Washington fire hall.
