Board Chairman Dr. William Young said that the original gift from Mr. Morehouse had left a strip behind the building, 45 feet wide and several hundred feet long. When the driveway was planned the board found that it was “extending beyond the land we would own."
He said when he explained this to Mr. Morehouse, Mr. Morehouse offered to donate the extra land. Now the gift is for 2.45 acres. “This gives us additional matching funds for wherever we go for money," he explained.
