In other action at Monday’s meeting, the board:

• a relocating the polling place for Hampton District from the courthouse to the Washington Fire Hall, at least until the courthouse is made accessible to the handicapped.

• appointed Sharon Pierce of Woodville to the Planning Commission to replace Robert Anderson, who was appointed to the Board after Nelson Lane resigned.

• appointed Robert Anderson as the supervisors’ representative to the Agricultural and Forestal District Advisory Committee to replace Mr. Lane.

• reaffirmed its policy which requires extension agents to live in the county.

• applied to the Division of Litter Control and Recycling for renewal of the county’s litter control grant.

• approved the renewal of the Jenkins Mountain Agricultural District.

• approved a request from Wade Massie to the Virginia Department of Transportation, requesting that it a and on a portion of old Route 211 at Massie’s Corner.
