To the editor:
I read with great interest the article entitled “GOP Trio Headed for Self Destruction ” (Rappahannock News April 27) by Delegate Warren Stambaugh, who represents part of Arlington County as a Democratic member of the General Assembly.
Throughout his article it is not mentioned that Mr. Stambaugh is looking at the Republican primary from the perspective of a Democratic officeholder. When finally Del. Stambaugh gets around to discussing his party’s probable nominee for the gubernatorial race, it’s in the third or fourth paragraph from the end. What struck me about those comments were that the probable nominee is chris-crossing the nation gathering and storing both money and support fQr the fall’s campaign.
I am sure that nationwide there are many liberal Democrats like Mr. Stambaugh who would like to see Lt. Governor Wilder ascend to the Governor’s office without ever get
