both the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Hunt Cups in the fall of ’88 and continued his winning ways this spring when he galloped wire-towire at the Marlborough Hunt Races, beating his five opponents by 30 lengths at the John Begg Memorial April 2. The brown gelding was back in the winners’ circle two weeks later at My Lady’s Manor, having run unchallenged down the stretch 20 lengths ahead of his principle competitor, ’84 Maryland Hunt Cup winner Bewiey’s Hill.
The horse’s most recent start was a brief foray over the Maryland Hunt Cup’s intimidating timber. Because he fell early in the race at the fourth fence, his owners feel the Gold Cup stakes, is a shot worth taking.
