Double Sparkle The '85 NSHA timber horse of the year, owned by Thomas Ashbridge III and trained by D.M. Smithwick, came in third at the '87 Pennsylvania Hunt Cup. He started on the flat this year at Howard County-Iron Bridge point-to-point, then jumped timber at Foxfield where he came in fourth.
He was third last fall at Morven Park under Woods Winants.
Tougher Still George Lee’s Tougher Still opened the season with a third in ladies’ timber at Blue Ridge with Patti Cassel. He then won the Warrenton ladies’ timber contest with this same rider over the big timber fences of new Airlie course and finished fourth in the Middleburg Hunt Cup.
