County Administrator John McCarthy reported to the Board of Supervisors Monday the news that Washington’s Architectural Review Board has requested an opinion from its consultant before it approves the design for the jail addition.
Mr. McCarthy summarized his meeting with the town’s Architectural Review Board last Thursday, when they reviewed the exterior plans page by page and heard Mr. McCarthy explain the planned changes to the existing outbuilding.
He said he had discussed the plans with them "a couple of months ago” and asked the three-member board if they had any problem with the proposal. They indicated that they couldn’t respond formally because the county hadn’t formally applied, but they could foresee no objections to the county’s plans then, Mr. McCarthy said.
