By LOU HATTER Rappahannock News Staff Writer Something remarkable happened in Sperryville several months ago. Panorama Video stopped renting X-rated movies. That in itself was not remarkable. Some other stores have done the same thing. Other video stores have never stocked the movies; which, due to their content (usually graphic nudity and sex or violence) can only be rented by adults. What was remarkable was how a Small group of town residents, working quietly, convinced owner Brenda Sickles to take the movies out of circulation. In nearby towns, including Culpeper and Warrenton, stores renting X-rated movies have been the focus of picketing, complaints by residents and criminal charges by prosecutors, as well as civil court actions.
