THE PLAINS — Spirited horses ind a gala crowd will cavort to the anfare of trumpets and good cheer st the 64th annual Virginia Gold Cup at Great Meadow this Saturday, May 6.
The Gold Cup, the fifth race of the day, offers a purse of $30,000 to be distributed to the five-year-olds and older that place in this timber contest.
Other races include the First American Cup stakes’ race with its $25,000 purse.
