There are some good reasons for separating, as Virginia does, federal from state elections since it gives an opportunity to sharply focus on issues that affect the state interest and the national interest.
Yet the downside, despite the record turnout of this year, is that the public is on an endless treadmill of politics with no relief in sight. Ho hum, another election. So what’s new?
