In spite of the many challenges facing the world today, Christian Scientists find time to be grateful, joyful, and expectant of good.
As part of the Thanksgiving service to be held by First Church of Christ, Scientist, Warrenton, at 10 a.m. on Nov. 26, a Bible Lesson will be read by two lay readers which will include the following verse from Colossians: “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”
Mary Baker Eddy, the discoverer and founder of Christian Science, writes in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, “Christ’s Christianity is the chain of scientific being reappearing in all ages, maintaining its obvious correspondence with the Scriptures and uniting all periods in the design of God.”
In addition to readings from the Bible and Science and Health, time will be given for testimonies of gratitude by Christian Scientists.
