Zen group
to meet
The Delaplane Zen Group will hold an all day meditation meeting and workshop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15.
The meeting will be held at the Hollin Farm Zendo — a rural location between Delaplane and Paris in Fauquier County. Those wishing to attend should call Tom Davenport at 592-3701. Cost is $5 which includes lunch.
Zen, in comparison to traditional religions, is highly iconoclastic. It does not require a particular belief nor does it have any dogma or creed. Rather it is a practice centered in a highly discplined form of non-discursive and non-analytical meditation. Zen developed within a Buddhist religious tradition, but in America it is practiced by men and women of all . faiths.
The Delaplane Zen Group meets regularly on Tuesday evenings at 8 p.m. at Emmanuel Church parish house near Delaplane, except for the fourth Tuesday of the month when the meeting is at Hollin Farm.
