Ruby Frye is getting ready for an Open House at M & R Alterations & Interior Designs this weekend.

Mrs. Frye grew up in Rappahannock and graduated from the high school. She was living in Northern Virginia in January, 1992, when she and her husband, Matthew, decided to get out of the urban sprawl and return to Rappahannock so they could raise their children near family. Then she faced the problem of how they could support themselves in Rappahannock. f

Mr. Frye found a job at Miller Honda in Winchester. Mrs. Frye tried commuting into Northern Virginia. “I'd get home at eight at night, and there was no time to do much more than go to bed,” she said.
