WARRENTON — Ames Department Store employees here collected more than 1,000 signatures Saturday on petitions asking Ames corporate officials to keep the Warrenton store open.
The Rock Hill, Conn.-based company announced on Oct. 30 that it was closing 14 Ames stores in Virginia. The stores in Warrenton and Manassas were included in the list of closings and will go out of business in March of 1993.
