Debby Poe, petition organizer, said many people Saturday hated to see the store close. For many, she said, the closing meant they would have to travel to Manassas to shop.
“They don’t want it to close. Most of them feel there isn’t any place else to shop,” Ms. Poe said.
The employees plan to continue collecting signatures the rest of this week and then mail the petition and a memo to corporate officials Friday.
“We want to show them that the community is behind keeping it open,” Ms. Poe said.
