Kayoko says she finds school in the United States much less strict than in Japan and says at home she never had any choices about courses to take in school. "American students have a more relaxed time than students in Japan,” she said. She enjoys American food but sometimes misses Japanese food. “We h’ave American food in Japan, but there is no Japanese food here," she said. She also plans to play volleyball this winter. She says she sometimes misses metric measurements.
