Gateway project

underway

After nearly three years from concept, the Sperryville Gateway project will get a hearing at a meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14 at the Sperryville Fire Hall. At this first post-contract meeting the design contractor, The Cox Company, will present its proposed options for the footbridge across the Thornton River.

The public will have an opportunity to review these options, and voice opinions as to the most suitable. Contact Tom Junk at 987-8617 for additional information.

Map meeting set

The initial meeting of the ad hoc committee to develop a Rappahannock farm and orchard map will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 18, at the Washington Town Hall. The meeting was to be held at the library, but a scheduling conflict forced this change of location.

All business owners who want to be included on the map should plan to attend. Call Jerry Ochs at 987-3311 for additional information.
