On Sept. 17 we will be saying farewell to Pastor Vernon DeLong. A covered dish lunch will be held immediately following the morning worship service. All are invited to attend. Pastor DeLong and the Amissville Baptist Choir will be at Woodville Baptist Church for revival this week. Sunday is going to be a sad day for many at our church, but God has called Rev. DeLong elsewhere and I am sure he will be sending a pastor that all will like just as well.

There are two special birthdays this month, for two distinguished gentlemen in our community, Charlie Priest will be a youthful 75 on Sept. 10 and Graham Hackley will be a young 84.
Anniversary wishes are extended to B. and Virginia Settle for nine years, Mary and Charlie Priest in celebration of 48 years, Ruby and Mitchell Greene 53 years and Paul and Gertie Poling for 58 years together. A lesson can be learned from these wonderful couples.
