Many Woodville residents recently attended the 43rd annual Norman reunion held Sunday, Aug. 27 at the Rappahannock Park pavilion. A total of 85 family and friends were in attendance. They came from various parts of the country.
It was good to see kinfolks that had not been seen for many years as well as those seen frequently. Some were missing due to illness or other family emergencies or events. We hope they will attend next year on the last Sunday in August 2001.
The cooks outdid themselves with a variety of delicious food in great quantity.
Mrs. Sallie Hawkins of Culpeper won a prize for the oldest there. She turned 95 in May of this year. The prize for the youngest present went to eight month old Samantha L. Gerber of Elizabeth City, N.C.
The door prize was won by Brian Aylor of Culpeper.
Everyone enjoyed viewing a video tape of the memorial services held for their ancestor James Gideon Norman in May 2000 at Fairview Cemetery where the Iron Cross was dedicated and placed on his grave. Mr. Nonnan was honored for his service in the Civil War from 1861 to 1865. The video was provided by his great-grandson Kyle Printz.
