ringing! The phones in the offices at RCHS ring continually! This is not a bad thing; however, it drastically reduces the amount of time our secretaries have to devote to any given task. Volunteer Joyce Hermansen has volunteered to answer phones one day per week for several years (She's already volunteered for Fridays this year!), but we need volunteers on Mondays through Thursdays. Are you free? Please consider helping in this worthwhile way.
Volunteer Charlotte Mills said last year that she found it a wonderful way to learn more about her children’s school and to get to know the staff better. Please call Mrs. Janet Jenkins at RCHS at 987-8575 or Jan Makela at 987-8259.
• The first RCES PTO meeting of the year will be held at the Rappahannock Park on Friday, Sept. 15. Please bring a covered dish and come with your family for a fun and informative evening. The potluck dinner will begin at 6; the meeting will be at 7, and will not exceed one hour, we promise. Meetings in October, November and December will be on the third Friday of each month due to .Early Release Days on the second Fridays. Please mark your calendars.
• The 2000-2001 schedule for RCHS athletic events is complete. Anyone in the community who loves sports and would like to support our young athletes is invited to attend the next home game at the high school and pick up a copy of the schedule. Keep an eye on the wonderful new marquee in front of RCHS for current game dates and times. We wish Mr. Jon Smythe, new Athletic Director, and his staff of coaches the very best for a successful
year with our talented young athletes.
