James Uideon INorman and his brother, Joseph Boston Norman served in the 7th Virginia Infantry, Company B also known as the Washington Greys. The Norman brothers along with their parents, James and Lucy Gore Norman and other siblings spent their early childhood growing up on land which had been granted to James Norman by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, William B. Giles on Sept. 22, 1829.
