ALLOWING
YOURSELF TO
GRIEVE
Death and the emotions it engenders should not be ignored. To do so is much like damming up a rushing river. Sooner or later, the water will overrun the wall to cause a flood. And in time, the accumulation of unshed tears will overflow into a flood of emotion. It is far better, therefore, to give vent to these sad feelings as they arise, rather than ignore them until they can no longer wait for recognition. Grieving entails recognition and acceptance of death. Those who are confronted with this harsh reality can take solace in the fact that grieving eventually allays the, profound sadness. Otherwise, as the Italian poet Dante observed, “I wept not, so to stone within I grew.”
Grieving is often as particular as each individual, but it also affects many of us very similarly. Many of us feel disoriented and confused, lost and even hopeless sometimes, but in time, all feelings ride out their roller coaster of loss, and, miraculously, we recover. At the MOSER FUNERAL HOME, 233 Broadview Avenue,Warrenton, you’ll find our staff to be compassionate, responsive to your requests, and professional in all they do. For years, we have worked with families, helping them through difficult times. Call 540-347-3431, and we’ll be happy to lend a hand. “It is only to the happy that tears are a luxury. ”
