Other activities
• The Town Council approved advertising a modified agreement between the Tbwn and Mr. and Mrs. Berry and Mr. and Mrs. Parson for easements on Berry and Parson land for the new Town reservoir and access thereto. The reservoir option selected by the Tbwn Council will create a 34 foot diameter by 30 foot deep 200,000 gallon reservoir that will cost an estimated $292,000 to site and construct.
• BUI Tieckelmann reported on the progress of sound system investigations, noting that volunteer Smiggy Smith has been tied up finishing the recording of the “Tidal Wave of Sound” album based upon songs written by Rappahannock County students with Paul Reisler, and that he would return to the sound system task shortly.
• Council member Charlie Tompkins reported that this year’s Fourth of July celebration, named the William M. Carrigan Independence Day Celebration in honor of the event’s benefactor, will again focus on Rappahannock County. The Tbwn Council also considered and approved a series of resolutions pertaining to the celebration.
