Admissions Counselor

GMU seek* an Admissions Counselor whose primary responsibility will involve active recruitment of new freshmen and transfer students. This entry-level position requires planning recruitment activities in assigned locations, contacting and traveling to schools - and community colleges, meeting with prospective students, and conducting presentations that highlight the university. Extensive travel is required within Virginia and throughout the continental U.S. The counselor will also be assigned a caseload of applicant files and will be required to make recommendations concerning appropriate admissions decisions for undergraduate students. Counselors are expected to participate in dayto-day operational activities and processes of the admissions office including “counselor of the day” duty and special events hosted by the office.
