The third annual Fodderstack Classic will be held Saturday beginning in Flint Hill and finishing in front of the courthouse in Washington. Pictured in a lead photo were Karen Bear and Frances Foster, both of Washington, training for Saturday’s race. Their best time thus far, 77 minutes for the 6.2 miles.
Captain Howard Holschuh of Castleton was recently given a Shenandoah Area Boy Scout Council Statuette Award for his efforts in setting up a High Adventure Explorer Post in Rappahannock for young men and women, ages 14-18.
Gid Jenkins of Slate Mills has retired from Culpeper Farmers’ Cooperative after being employed there since 1968. He was honored with a luncheon and presented a watch and framed certificate by the Coop and his fellow employees. He worked in the feed mill division running the mixer all during his tenure there. His future plans include hunting, fishing and working in his garden.
