As Joint Master, Ms. O’Keefe, joins a long line of predecessors dating back to the 18th century, when hunting fox on horseback with hounds was first introduced to the tri-county area.
The current Rappahannock Hunt was established in 1926 and recognized by the Masters of Foxhounds Association of America in 1936. Such recognition means a hunt meets the standards set forth by the MFHA, abides by the code of conduct, honors the traditions instituted and is fully sanctioned by the national association. Rappahannock is the only hunt based in Rappahannock County that enjoys such recognition.
