The right diet can make a difference with many health conditions, and heart trouble is one of them.
Pat Compton, a dietitian and nutritionist in Sterling, says the right “lifestyle approach” can help keep you healthy. The key to healthy eating is to plan.
“You have to think through the week,” she said.
Certain foods don’t have to be off-limits — just pay attention to quantity. If you know you are going to eat out on Monday, plan a lighter dinner for Tuesday.
Diet can make a big difference for a problem like high cholesterol, Compton said. Even with a family history of high cholesterol, a healthy diet can still help. Without a family history, diet alone can lower .cholesterol. /
