Religion

and Health

Increasingly, the medical establishment is coming to accept the fact that religion influences health. A few years ago, only three medical schools in the US taught courses on religious issues in patient care. Today, that number has increased more than tenfold. While no one is sure how religion exerts a healthful effect upon patients, it is thought that it plays a role in helping them cope with stress. It has been observed that praying or reading religious texts seems to help people maintain lower stress levels. And the sense of social connectedness and community that religion provides may also help minimize stress and its effects. Whatever the reason, religion appears to act as a buffer against mental and physical pain. When we come close to the end of life, many of us seek support from the realm of the sacred, whatever our faith may be. At the MOSER FUNERAL HOME, we are here to help you out, to offer you support and comfort, and to arrange the logistics when you are dealing with a loss. Call 540-347-3431, 233 Broadview Ave., Warrenton, 24 hours a day. Bright View Cemetery is just outside Warrenton and offers monuments and memorials for all cemeteries.
