Lagenaria gourds, also known as Bottle Gourds, are monoecious, which describes a plant or vine having two kinds of flowers. Bottle gourds have large, luminous, nightblooming flowers and the blossoms produced are male and female.
Female blossoms produce the fruit (gourd) and the male blossom produces the pollen. The gourds will need about 150 to 180 growing days in order to fully mature to a 10” — 12” gourd.
