The bread group is another trouble area, and again, the culprit is quantity, Compton said. Moderation is important with bread, along with many other foods, such as margarine and butter. They are not forbidden, but for a healthy heart they must be limited.
With dairy foods, people know they should avoid whole milk and ice cream, but they also then avoid all dairy foods, which Compton said is not good.
Another problem area is eating out. Working convenience food into a healthy diet can be hard. Business people who travel a lot find it especially hard to exercise and eat right.
And they tend to overindulge, Compton says, because they are spending the company’s money.
